How To Have A Fresh Start In Life
1. Build Your Foundation On God.
With this fresh start you are given, allow God to take the wheel this time and you sit back and enjoy the ride. Proverbs 3:5-6 states to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your path straight. God wants to handle your heavy load and relieve you of any stress that you are carrying, providing a comforting sense of security.
Jesus Christ is the foundation that has already been laid, and anyone can build on it.
– 1 Corinthians 3:11-17
Having God as the foundation of your life allows you to live life with a sense of purpose and direction. He will provide the strategy and resources. You may not know every plan that he has for you, but one thing is for sure: you are in good hands. Just know that whatever you build will withstand the test of time. Let his word permeate your life. I don’t know who or what you may believe in, but falling in love with Jesus Christ was the best thing I could have ever done.
As a friend,
I would love for you to build a bond with him and let him show you how awesome of a Father he truly is. It is not my responsibility to force you to do anything you don’t want to because you have free will, but I must let you know how good the true and living God is. He is always here and waiting whenever you are ready. He loves you and cares about you. Start with God as the foundation of your life, and you will never regret it.
Here are a few resources that I use to help build my foundation and walk with God. I hope they will also help you on your journey with God 🙏🏾😊!

2. Complete A Digital Reset.
Regain control over your tech world so you can create healthier digital habits. Below are a few examples of how you can hit the reset button digitally.
1. Declutter your phone (This one is especially for me)
Go through your phone and delete the millions of photos you don’t need in your storage. Now is a great time to go through your phone and delete the contacts you no longer associate with and the messages accompanying them. It’s time to make space for the new in your life. If you have a lot of apps like mine that just sit on your home screen, and you don’t even know what they are, please delete them and organize the primary ones you use. Now, this creates easy access to your apps.
2. Password Reset
Update all your passwords so it will be harder for anyone to hack into your information. If you sometimes forget what password you used, try the password manager to save the information, so all you have to do is log in. Please have a PIN for your computer so you are the only one accessing these passwords.
3. Clear your digital workspace.(guilty again)
Organize your desktop file folders and clean out your cloud storage. Delete all the empty folders you don’t need and arrange the ones you need by label to help you keep track of your documents. Ensure you thoroughly review your files and trash the unnecessary files for more storage.
4. Reorganize Email Subscriptions
Unsubscribe from unwanted or irrelevant newsletters and promotional emails. Organize your inbox with folders, labels, and filters to make managing it easier.
5. Update your software
This example is one of the most important ones. Ensure you update your computer to the latest software for the most efficient performance and security. Trash any unused apps or software. A digital reset can help you manage technology in a way that supports your mental health, productivity, and overall well-being.
2. Shift Your Mindset.
Shifting your mindset means changing how you think and perceive situations, people, or challenges to improve your outlook, behavior, and emotional well-being. Sometimes, you must unlearn many bad habits and beliefs and replace them with positive ones. Here are a few ways to shift your mindset:
1. Practice gratitude.
Instead of focusing on what’s going wrong, appreciate how blessed you are now. You got to see another day while someone else didn’t even get to open their eyes. I am sure there are numerous things that you can complain about, but I KNOW there are more good things to brag about. Always have an attitude of gratitude. This posture will keep you in a positive headspace and help you to enjoy life more. Grab a journal and write down what you are grateful for daily; whenever you find yourself unappreciative, reflect on what you wrote.
2. Change Your Negative Self-Talk
Since it takes the same energy to talk negatively to yourself as it does positively, you will take positive self-talk for 500. Create a list of positive affirmations and speak them over yourself daily to have a weapon to win the battle when you feel a negative thought creeping in. Speaking life into and over yourself is very important, and you should never take it lightly.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
-Proverbs 18:21
*I’m My Own Cup of Tea is a fun-loving journal & workbook that focuses on appreciating and loving oneself. This journal includes engaging activities to help you discover what makes you set apart. No need for comparisons because you are one of one. Have fun, and don’t take yourself too seriously. The most important message from this journal is that you don’t have time to consume everybody else’s tea. The tea that you have is just the right sip for you.*
3. Stay Powerful In Your Present.
I would love to share with you some advice about the present moment I received from a previous video by a YouTuber named FiFi Stevens TV. The video is called “Do Not Worry. “God Is Making A Way For You.” In this video, she states, “God’s presence is in the present.” This statement blew my mind even though this act of recognition should be daily. If you are looking into the past, you are making yourself depressed because you are concerned with everything you could have done or said differently.
If you are looking to the future, you are creating anxiety and worry because you want to control and know how everything will fall into place. Jeremiah 29:11 states, ” I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” So, knowing that God has everything handled should give you more reason to enjoy your present moment. You miss many beautiful moments when you are not appreciative of your now.
You can focus on creating fond memories with loved ones and when you want to be solo. The moral of the story is not to take advantage of life and appreciate every moment you have because God has his hands on you and wants to see you happy. He wants you to know he has your back, is always there, and wants to connect and build an unbreakable bond. So forget what was, and looking too far ahead is none of your business because every day in life is not guaranteed.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
– Matthew 6:34
4. Set Goals and Be Intentional.
Be intentional about how you want your life to go. Live life with a sense of purpose. Sometimes, we think maneuvering through life on autopilot is the best way, but soon realize we don’t like what it has presented us. Reflect on your dreams, passions, and what you actually want to achieve, and don’t limit yourself. Break those dreams into small weekly or monthly goals you work on daily.
Write the vision and make it plain upon tablets, that he may run that readeth it.
– Habakkuk 2:2
Stay inspired and hopeful throughout the process. Setting and acting on new life goals can create a new sense of direction and fulfillment. With determination, discipline, persistence, and intentionality, there is no way you are not living the life God has for you at its fullest. Being committed will help you not to be mediocre and short-change yourself.

5. Home Decluttering
It is important to not just digitally reset but also clean your personal space. Spend a weekend decluttering your living space—get rid of items that no longer serve you, rearrange your furniture, or redecorate your bedroom. Your home is your happy place. Having a clean, organized environment can create a sense of calm and signal a fresh start.
6. Health and Wellness Reset
Focus on being the best version of yourself. If you notice you have many unhealthy habits, commit to creating a better lifestyle, which may include changing your diet, meal prepping to prevent excuses, or finding a fun workout that keeps you motivated. These healthy habits will give you the energy and extra boost to tackle your daily tasks.

7. Socially Reset
In this new season, take inventory of the people in your life. If you’ve been in relationships or friendships that drain you, decide to reset by distancing yourself from toxic connections. It’s time to nurture friendships and relationships that bring positivity. Surround yourself with people who can pour into you in the ways you need and vice versa.
Create new boundaries, set higher standards for yourself, and stand on your word. If you are a social butterfly, maybe you want to join communities where you can surround yourself with like-minded individuals. There is no need to tolerate anyone or keep dead weight around.
8. Self-Care Reset
If you have been neglecting yourself, now is the perfect time to incorporate intentional “me time” to recharge and rejuvenate. Maybe you want to try a new skincare routine or finally get that massage you keep canceling and putting off for the right time. You may also not feel like doing anything, and that’s okay, too; enjoy your guilt-free nap. Stop putting yourself on hold and placing everything and everyone ahead of you. You are a priority!

9. Career Reset
If you are unhappy with where you are, pivoting is not wrong. Consider updating your resume, taking an online course to gain new skills, or seeking mentorship to explore new career paths. Set new professional goals or apply for jobs that align with your passions.
10. Financial Reset
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by financial stress, reset your budget. Track your spending, cut unnecessary expenses, or set savings goals. A fresh financial plan can give you a sense of control and peace of mind.
Conclusion
As you embark on this journey to renew your mindset and rewrite your story, remember that fresh starts don’t happen overnight. It’s a gradual process that requires patience, self-compassion, and a willingness to keep going, even when things get tough. Each day is a new opportunity to make small, meaningful changes.
Celebrate your progress, no matter how small, and trust that you are capable of creating the life you truly want. Your past doesn’t define you; what matters is the story you choose to write from here. Embrace the new chapters ahead, and don’t forget to give yourself grace along the way. The best is yet to come!
